Most flying toys need a controller, two hands and a garden. This one needs a flick of the wrist. Switch it on, swing it once, and the rotor inside spins up — from then on the ball reacts to your hand rather than to a remote.

The OrbitGlow Flying Orb Ball hovers above an open palm, follows a hand held underneath it, and comes back when you throw it at the right angle. That boomerang return is the trick everyone tries first, and it takes about ten minutes to get right.

Inside a 9.5 cm cage sit coloured LEDs that light the whole ball from within. In a dim room it stops looking like a toy and starts looking like something out of a film.

Why You'll Love It

🪄 Hovers Over Your Hand
Hold an open palm underneath and the orb floats above it, following the hand as you move. It is the first thing anyone does with it, and it works within seconds of switching on.

🪃 Throws and Comes Back
Launch it at a slight angle and it curves away and returns towards you, like a boomerang. Getting the angle right is the whole game — and the reason it holds attention far longer than a ball that simply flies.

🔄 No Remote, No App
The orb is controlled entirely by hand: switch on, swing to start, swing again to stop. There is nothing to pair, nothing to charge separately and nothing to lose down the back of the sofa.

🌈 Lit From the Inside
Coloured LEDs run through the whole cage, so the orb glows as it spins. In a dark hallway or an evening garden the light traces the flight path, which is most of the appeal.

🛡️ Rotor Inside a Cage
The blades sit behind the ribbed shell rather than out in the open. That is what makes a flying toy usable indoors at all, and it keeps fingers away from the moving parts.

🔌 Charges Over USB
30 to 35 minutes from any USB source — a wall plug, a laptop or a power bank. There are no batteries to buy and nothing to unscrew.

⏱️ 6 to 8 Minutes of Flight
Long enough for a proper session and short enough that it goes back on charge rather than being abandoned mid-afternoon. Worth knowing before it goes under a tree.

🏠 Indoors and Out
A hallway, a living room with the ornaments moved, a garden on a still day. Wind makes the return unreliable, so the first attempts are better made inside.

🤝 Two People Can Play
Throwing it back and forth across a room works once you both have the knack, which turns a solo gadget into something a family does together at Christmas.

⚠️ Keep It Away From Faces and Hair
The rotor is enclosed, but it is still a spinning flying object. Launch it away from people, keep long hair tied back, and stay with younger children while they learn.

A Few Minutes to Learn, Weeks to Get Bored Of

Press the power button, then swing the orb once with your wrist to start the rotor. Swing it again to stop. The first few flights will go into a wall — that is normal, and the angle is what you are learning.

Charge it fully before the first go, and let it cool between sessions 🪄✨
